Open TrevolyxFree, desktop browser, nothing uploaded.

Questions and answers

Is Trevolyx free?

Yes. It runs in your browser with no account and no install.

Are my models uploaded?

No. Modelling runs in your browser tab and in Web Workers on your own device. Files are read from and saved to your disk.

Which browsers work?

Current desktop Chrome and Edge are fully tested. Firefox and Safari load and model, with full test coverage in progress. Phones show a read-only view.

Can I open STEP files?

Yes. STEP and IGES open as exact solids, and STL, OBJ, 3MF and glTF open as meshes.

Can I open SolidWorks, Inventor or Creo files?

Not their native formats, which are closed. Save as STEP in the original program and open that.

What can I export?

STEP, STL, OBJ, 3MF and GLB for models, DXF for drawings and sheet metal flat patterns, and CSV for weldment cut lists.

Is there simulation or FEA?

Not in v1. FEA is the next planned feature.

What is not in v1 yet?

Simulation (FEA), 3D Sketch, Markup and MBD auto dimensioning.

Can I use it for commercial work?

Yes. Trevolyx is free for personal, student and commercial use.

Does it work on phones?

No. Trevolyx is a desktop app because CAD needs a mouse, a keyboard and a large screen. The guides on this site work on any device.

Where are my files saved?

On your computer, as .tnprt, .tnasm and .tndrw files, or in a project folder you choose. You can also keep a project in browser storage.

Is it like SolidWorks?

The layout, ribbon, design tree and command names follow SolidWorks so its users feel at home. It is a separate program with its own code and icons.

What computer do I need?

A laptop or desktop with current Chrome or Edge, WebGL2 and WebAssembly, and 8 GB RAM recommended. See the system requirements page at taskninja.ai/3d-cad/system-requirements.

Are there ads?

One small ad on the start screen keeps Trevolyx free. There are no ads while you model.
