Resize Image to 20KB
This page opens the photo tool with the maximum set to 20 KB.
What this tool does
How to use it
The maximum is already 20 KB and the minimum is 0. Change the width and height if your form names a size.
The starting frame is a short signature shape, 4 by 2 centimetres. Switch to a photo shape if you are resizing a face, not a signature.
Drop a JPG, PNG, or WebP. Use JPEG as the format unless the notice asks for something else.
Press Resize and read the KB line on the preview.
Download only when the file is under 20 KB and the crop still shows what the form needs.
Common uses
20 KB is a hard ceiling. It is common on signature boxes, and some photo boxes name it too. A normal phone portrait is nowhere near that small, so the tool has to throw away detail. This page starts with the under-20 KB preset: maximum 20 KB, minimum 0, and a 4 by 2 centimetre frame meant for a signature. That frame is a starting point. If you are shrinking a face, change the width and height before you resize. A signature shape will crop a portrait badly.
Many exam forms ask for a signature between about 10 and 20 KB, and they also name pixels or centimetres. Put those measurements in the width and height boxes. Use centimetres or pixels, matching the notice. Crop to fill when the ink should cover the frame. Fit with padding when the signature should sit inside the box with white around it. A signature photographed on a busy background will still look busy. The tool does not erase the background.
If the form wants 20 to 50 KB rather than “under 20”, this preset is the wrong band, because it has no minimum and it stops at 20. Use the main Resize Photo page and the 20–50 KB preset, or the 50 KB page if the notice only states a maximum around 50. Uploading a 12 KB file to a box that wants at least 20 KB can fail even though the file is “small enough”.
College applications and state recruitment sites sometimes use 20 KB for the signature and a larger number for the photograph. Do the two files separately. Do not reuse the signature download as the photo. Name them so you can tell them apart before you upload. The tool does not rename the file to the portal’s required filename. You do that when you save or when the portal asks.
JPEG is the format that can actually hit 20 KB. PNG of a photo rarely gets that small, because PNG is built for sharp graphics, not for photographs. If you picked PNG and the file stays large, switch to JPEG and resize again from the original, not from the PNG download.
Private, and the limits
The image stays in the browser. Nothing is uploaded, and the daily AI limit is not used. There is no login. When you are done, the only copy TaskNinja does not have is the one you downloaded — TaskNinja never received the photo.
Under 20 KB is a maximum the tool aims for, not a stamp of approval from an exam board. If the preview says the file is still above 20 KB after the quality floor, do not upload it. Try a tighter crop or a simpler signature photo. HEIC files depend on the browser. Export JPG if the drop is refused.
