Compress PDF to 300KB
This page opens Compress PDF with the Under 300 KB cap already selected.
What this tool does
How to use it
The size cap is already set to Under 300 KB.
Choose the PDF you need to upload, such as a Class 10 certificate, a mark sheet or an address proof.
Press Compress PDF. The tool tries the gentlest settings first and only goes further if it has to.
Download the file once the result line says it is under 300 KB, and open it to check every page is readable.
Common uses
300 KB is the document limit on several big forms. The NTA bulletins for NEET (UG) 2026 and JEE (Main) 2026 ask for the Class 10 certificate, mark sheet and similar documents as PDFs between 50 KB and 300 KB. The Protean PAN guidelines allow supporting documents of up to 300 KB per page. So a scan of a certificate taken on a phone, which is often 1 to 4 MB, has to come down a long way before the form accepts it.
The good news is that 300 KB is enough room for a clear scan of one to three pages. The tool starts at 150 DPI with good JPEG quality, which keeps printed text crisp, and only steps down if the file is still too big. For most single-page certificates the first or second step is enough, so the result looks almost the same as the original.
Watch the minimum as well. NEET and JEE say between 50 KB and 300 KB, so a PDF that is too small can also be rejected. A typed e-certificate might already be 40 KB. That is under the floor, and compressing it will not help. In that case upload the original if it is above 50 KB, or make the PDF from a fresh scan. The exact sizes and source links for each exam are on the exam photo and signature page.
If you have several pages as photos, turn them into one PDF with JPG to PDF first, then compress the result here. If your form wants separate files, use Merge PDF to split pages out before compressing each one. For a page that must be even smaller, the 100 KB page uses the same method with a tighter cap.
Before you upload, open the compressed PDF on your phone and zoom in on the smallest print: the roll number, the date of birth and the board seal. Those are what an officer checks during verification. If any of them is hard to read, go back to the original and take a sharper scan in better light. A clean scan compresses far better than a dark, tilted one.
Private, and the limits
Nothing is uploaded. The PDF is read, compressed and saved inside your browser, and TaskNinja never receives it. The tool does not use your daily writing-tool limit and needs no account.
The page shows the final size and how much smaller it is. If it is still above 300 KB, the tool has reached the end of its ladder for that file. Locked or password-protected PDFs cannot be opened here.
