What this tool does

Convert Altium .SchDoc schematics to PDF, PNG or SVG in your browser without Altium Designer. One PDF page per sheet, ready to print. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Choose the .SchDoc files, or a .zip of the project folder. They stay on your device.

  2. Check the sheets in the viewer. Use the list or arrows to look through each one.

  3. Press Download PDF for every sheet, or save the current sheet as PNG or SVG. The file is made on this device and nothing is sent anywhere.

Common uses

A PDF is the easy way to share a schematic with people who do not have Altium: it opens on every phone and computer, prints at the right size and can go into a design review, a test report, a purchase request or an email. Normally only someone with an Altium licence can make one, using Smart PDF. This page does it anywhere: the sheets are read in your browser, each is redrawn, and a PDF is built on your device with one page per sheet, labelled with the sheet name.

Each page is set to portrait or landscape to suit its sheet, and the drawing is fitted inside the margins at high resolution so thin wires and small pin numbers stay readable when printed on A4 or zoomed on screen. For a single sheet in a report or a wiki, Save as PNG gives a sharp picture, and SVG keeps it as vectors that scale without blur in Word, PowerPoint or a web page.

Typical jobs: a test engineer gets the latest sheets from the design team and wants them printed for the bench; a student downloads an open hardware project from GitHub and wants to read the circuit on a laptop without Altium; a buyer needs the parts list from a contractor's design; a firmware developer wants the pin out of the microcontroller sheet next to the code. The BOM and netlist CSV buttons in the viewer cover the parts and connections, and the PDF covers everything else.

Large projects are fine. The files are read in a background worker that draws the first sheet first, then the rest, while a progress bar shows how far it has got, and the PDF is written page by page so the tab stays responsive. A zip of the whole project folder works too, and when the .PrjPcb file is inside, the pages follow the sheet order of the project.

Private, and the limits

The conversion happens on your device. The .SchDoc files are not uploaded and the PDF, PNG or SVG is handed straight to your browser as a download.

Fonts missing from your device are replaced with a similar one, so the PDF can differ slightly from Altium's Smart PDF. Text is part of the picture in the PDF; use the BOM and netlist exports in the viewer to get parts and nets as text.

FAQ

How do I convert a SchDoc to PDF without Altium?
Choose the .SchDoc file on this page and press Download PDF. It works in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, ChromeOS, iPhone or Android.
Is the schematic uploaded to convert it?
No. The schematic is read and the PDF is made in this browser tab, so the design never reaches a server.
Does every sheet go into the PDF?
Yes. Each sheet becomes its own page, with the sheet name at the top. Open several files or a zipped project to get them all in one PDF.
Can I convert SchDoc to PNG or SVG?
Yes. Pick a sheet and press This sheet as PNG, or SVG for a vector file that scales without blur.
Can I export the BOM too?
Yes. Parts list (BOM CSV) and Netlist CSV are next to the PDF button.
