Opening the tool…
What this tool does
ArchiveOpener opens RAR, ZIP, 7z, TAR and GZ files in this browser, then lets you preview or download what is inside.
How to use it
Choose a .rar, .zip, .7z, .tar, .tar.gz, .tgz or .gz file, or drop it on the box. Files over 100 MB are refused.
Wait for the file list. Each row shows the path, the size, and whether it is a file or a folder.
Preview a text file or a JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP or plain SVG. Download that one file if you only need it.
If a ZIP has a password, type it and try the download again. Or press Download all as ZIP to pack every file into a new ZIP.

FAQ
Do you upload my RAR or ZIP to open it?
No. Opening, listing and extracting all run in your browser. TaskNinja does not receive the archive.
Which files can I open?
RAR (including RAR 5), ZIP, 7z, TAR, TAR.GZ, TGZ and a single GZ file, up to 100 MB. PDF, photos and Office files are turned away.
What if the archive asks for a password?
For a ZIP, type the password you already know and download again. Password-protected RAR and 7z files cannot be opened in the browser yet, and the page says so instead of failing quietly.
Can I preview a photo or a text file inside?
Yes. Press Preview on a text file or on a JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP or plain SVG. Other files are download only.
Why was a large archive refused?
The page stops if the archive is over 100 MB, if unpacking would pass 500 MB, if there are more than 5,000 files, or if one file is over 200 MB.
Is there a fee or a signup?
No. The tool is free, it does not ask for an account, and the ZIP you download has no watermark.
