What this tool does

HEIC to JPG turns iPhone HEIC and HEIF photos into JPG or PNG in this browser.

How to use it

  1. Drop one or more .heic or .heif photos. Other file types are refused.

  2. Leave the format on JPG, or switch to PNG. For JPG, set quality from 50% to 100%.

  3. Press Convert. The page shows progress while the decoder loads and while each photo converts.

  4. Check the preview and the before and after size. If you change format or quality, press Update.

  5. Download one photo, or every photo as a ZIP. Nothing is uploaded.

Common uses

Many exam forms, GST uploads, and government portals in India accept JPG or PNG and reject HEIC. An iPhone saves photos as HEIC by default, so the file that looks fine in the camera roll fails when a portal checks the type. This page converts that file in the browser. You do not make an account, and the photo is not sent to a server. After you have a JPG, a form that also caps the weight, such as 20 KB or 50 KB, is a separate step. Use Resize Photo on the JPG. Changing the type does not by itself hit a kilobyte limit.

JPG is the default because portals and WhatsApp expect it. The quality slider runs from 50% to 100%. A lower number makes a smaller file and a softer picture. 90% is a fair start when the form does not name a KB limit. 100% keeps more detail and a larger file. PNG does not use the slider. It keeps the pixels as they are, which suits a graphic stored as HEIC, and it is usually much bigger than a JPG of the same photo. Change the format or the quality and press Update. The previous download stays on screen, marked as out of date, until you do.

You can drop several photos at once. Each one is converted in turn, and the page says which file it is working on. When more than one picture is ready, Download all saves a ZIP. You can still save a single picture from its preview. The list shows the first 12, then Show all, so the box grows instead of scrolling inside itself. If one file is damaged, the others still finish and the page names the one that failed. A renamed JPG is refused, because the page reads the HEIC brand inside the file, not only the name.

Some HEIC files hold more than one picture, such as a burst. When this page uses its own decoder, every picture in the file is converted and numbered. Chrome and Firefox on Windows and Android need that decoder. It is loaded from this site only after you press Convert, and it is not fetched from a third-party network. Safari can open HEIC itself, so those browsers take a faster path and save the first picture. A Live Photo is a still plus a short video. This page converts the still and does not export the video. If you need the JPG inside a document, use JPG to PDF afterwards.

Private, and the limits

The photo stays in this browser tab. Conversion does not call TaskNinja, an ad network, or an AI model. There is no account and no watermark. The decoder is a separate program: it receives the HEIC bytes and returns a JPG or PNG. Close the tab and the working copy is gone. Download the file if you want to keep it.

A damaged or unsupported HEIC stops with a plain error. Files over 50 MB are refused so the tab does not run out of memory. Export a smaller copy from the phone if you hit that line. HEIC uses HEVC to store the pixels. This page only decodes that into a picture you can save. The open-source credits name the decoder and link to its licence and source. The rest of the site does not contain that code.

FAQ

Is my photo uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser. The file is not sent to TaskNinja or to anyone else.
Which files can I drop in?
HEIC and HEIF, including the .heic files an iPhone saves. JPG, PNG, PDF, and other types are refused with a clear message.
Can I convert several photos at once?
Yes. Drop them together, then download one file or all of them as a ZIP. A damaged file does not stop the rest.
What quality should I pick?
90% is a solid default when a portal only rejects HEIC. Use a lower number for a smaller JPG. PNG ignores the slider.
Will a government or exam portal accept the JPG?
The page changes the file type to JPG or PNG. If the portal also wants a KB limit or a pixel size, resize the JPG afterwards and read your own notification.
What about a Live Photo or a burst?
A burst is converted picture by picture when the page uses its own decoder. Safari saves the first picture. A Live Photo's video is not included.
